AH Vault: Guides To Entrepreneurship
NEWS FLASH: All you budding musicians, concert promoters, managers, audio producers, etc. out there are actually entrepreneurs. This is a big fancy word meaning you take professional risks on your own ideas because you have passion and drive. Our own George Howard has a starter’s guide put together over on the Artists House main site, which is intended to serve as inspiration for those who have opted for a life of highest highs and lowest lows. I thought I’d share some of the entrepreneurship related videos I have been watching lately over on the Artists House site:
Ken Lopez, Professor Of Music Industry - USC
Jerry Del Colliano, Professor Of Music Industry Studies - USC
G.I. Sanders, Co-Owner - Fancorps.com
John McDavitt, Owner - McDavitt Design
These are just a few examples of what can be found over at Artistshousemusic.org. Just type in the word “entrepreneurship” and start clicking. Also, as a word of advice, just because the shoot date of the particular clip isn’t terribly current, it doesn’t mean that the broader themes discussed aren’t worth hearing. Happy watching.
As a last thought, here is a link to George Howard discussing various examples of musicians being entrepreneurial. Check out the hair, huh? I’m probably going to get in trouble for that. I should also point out that any video with George in it is worth your time, so typing his name into the search bar up top is worth your time as well.
