Artists House Community Christmas Compilation

If you’re following us on twitter, you probably are already aware that I’ve been soliciting Christmas tunes from all of you who have made your holiday recordings available to your fans!

I noticed a few weeks ago that many of you were doing special holiday promotions. Carla Lynne Hall has been busy recording holiday songs for her fans by just using her laptop and a couple quick & dirty tricks. Bev Barnett in the “11 blogs of Christmas” is making a new song from her Christmas album available each day on her blog, where she takes the time to tell you a story about each of those songs. There are more of you with great ideas like this, and it’d be great if you could reach more people. How? Leverage the community!

The idea is to create a Christmas compilation featuring all of you so that collectively you can get more exposure than you would’ve been able to on your own. It’s a great opportunity to show our other readers what you’ve while at the same time seeing what they are up to.

So far I’ve been amazed at how talented all of you are - we’ve received a brilliant variety of songs, from beautiful arrangements of traditional songs all the way to “Space Zombie Christmas.” This is sure to be the most eclectic Christmas playlist ever put together. And the more songs we have from all of you the better it will be!

If you’ve recorded something for the holidays, get in touch with me on twitter by the end of this weekend (Dec. 21) to have your song included.

In exchange for putting this compilation together and giving you a little extra exposure, we ask that your song submissions be either public domain or that you agree to allow us to digitally distribute your song online for free. The compilation album will be available for streaming early next week. I’d like to make the album available as a free download as well. If this creates a conflict for you, please e-mail me at andrewsgoodrich AT gmail.com and we’ll figure something out.

I’m really excited to see how this turns out, and I hope all of you are too! Keep the submissions coming!
