NPR Interview w/ Planet Google Author

This week, NPR’s brilliant Fresh Air podcast interviewed Randall Stross about his new book, Planet Google: One Company’s Audacious Plan To Organize Everything We Know. In the book, Stross chronicles the rise of Google over the past ten years and explains just the process the company uses to index and organize the web for fastest access. He also poses some tough questions for listeners to reflect upon, such as “why does Google cooperate with China to set up censored search servers in China” and “what happens as its indexed web begins to store more of our personal information, and what happens when that data is breached”.
I’ve posted a link to the Fresh Air broadcast below. Stross’s interview occurs in the last fifteen minutes and is preceded by an excellent conversation with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, which is slightly beyond the scope of what Artists House covers (but worth hearing nevertheless).
