Artists House Vault: Booking and Touring

Though artists could easily spend all of their time promoting themselves online, technology will never replace the importance of real face to face contact and creating genuine human connections. The strength of your fanbase is going to come from touring.

In that spirit, here are a couple videos from the Artists House Music site about booking live shows.

Representing the big boys, Brad Wavra of LiveNation talks about his job as the Vice President of Touring. He talks about the logistics of touring at a large scale, and gives some insight into what it takes from the perspective of a large company.

On a more practical level, Martin Atkins - author of TourSmart - gives some good advice that you can sink your teeth into and implement today.

If you have a free hour, we DEFINITELY recommend that you watch the full Martin Atkins video. He’s helpful, practical, and hilarious.

To bridge the gap between the big boys and the grassroots, we have George Howard next speaking about how to tell when you are ready for a booking agent.

We hope these videos will help get you thinking about getting out on the road. This is just a starting point. Check here for more videos about booking and touring on the AH website.
